Damn, readers, there are some picky online daters out there! I had no idea. I had been of the mind that if a person has turned to the internet for dates, then that person will probably let a few deal breakers slide. You know, beggers can't be choosers and all that. But apparently online daters most certainly can be choosers! The choosiest of all! I had no idea...
There are now a plethora of online niche dating sites. Some people just know what they like and can't be bothered to sift through the likes of OKCupid and JDate (itself a niche dating site) to find it. For example, there are a lot of people who have a real thing for redheads - it's ginger or nothing for these folks - enough people to warrant at least 3 separate dating sites geared solely toward them: DateGinger, Redhead Passions and Redhead World. There are sites for those who like their partners ink-stained (this is just one of many tattoo-friendly sites), for those who were die-hard Marilyn Manson fans when it was (never) cool, for those who need more cushion for the pushin', for geek lovers, cougars and even the equestrian-obsessed. What? Yes, horse lovers.
This online dating thing is way more involved than I had any idea. Now, in all fairness, a lot of these sites are UK based. These are the same people who brought us Boy George, Naomi Campbell and PIPPAAAAAAAA!, so who who ever knows what those people are thinking? I mean, "chim chim cheree"? What does that even mean?
Anyway, if you're the type who wants a girl/guy with gangly teeth and will settle for nothing less, never fear, if there isn't a dating site for you already, there will be soon. Or just go on any of the UK's general dating sites and you'll likely find what you're looking for. Ope! RUDE, HAVILAH! Rude. But true.
